Salvador, Adam and Laura

Costa & Mason are wedding planners in Barcelona, founded in 2015. We’re Salvador and Adam — one Spanish, one English. We’ve been together since 2007, and between us we’ve planned more than 250 weddings — including our own in April 2023, where the big decisions were easy, but the little ones we argued about, to the point of needing a safe word.

And from that day came our dogs and diamonds logo. Our two dogs on our wedding rings. A deeply personal tip from Tanja and Craig, a grateful couple. They called them our wedding planner rings.

Our venue video tours are how most couples find us. If you’ve been talking to any venues already, you’ll probably know some of them include our tours in their proposals: Xalet del Nin, Bell Recó, Casa del Mar, Gran Villa Rosa, La Baronia, Almiral de la Font. One bride, Victoria, mused in our first meeting: “I loved that you had all these videos. When I approached multiple venues, they sent me your videos, and I kept wondering, ‘Does he work with them? Who is this man?'”

Adam is the imagination and the possibility and the excitement. Salvador, calmly, makes it all happen.

You’ll meet Adam first — he answers your enquiry and leads the early conversations. From the moment you say yes, the planning is Salvador’s. We’re always discussing things, but Adam has never told Salvador how to plan a wedding. That’s the one unwritten rule, and it’s why the business and the marriage are both still standing.

There’s one thing you should know about us. Ask Adam if you want the honest answer — perhaps more honest than you wanted. Ask Salvador if you want to keep smiling.

From 2011 to 2014 Salvador ran the weddings at Centre Eqüestre, a riding school. Sixty a year, in a six-month season, three years straight. Busy. That kind of busy shows you every side of a wedding — every side.

His aunt is the reason he’s in this at all. He lived with her and helped out at her wedding venue — he worked his first wedding at eighteen. Then a hospitality diploma in Barcelona, restaurants in Paris, London and New York, a stretch at sea on the cruise liners, and a café of his own — the trendiest in town, he’ll tell you.

All of this taught him what he didn’t want — to grow old as a manager, never off his feet. And the one thing that remained true, and shone — the service that lets you into people’s lives. You could almost say it led him to Salvador Costa Weddings, in 2014.

Adam never planned any of this. It was Salvador’s business. Adam was a teacher at the time, trained to teach English because Spain was always going to happen. Once here he was building his own thing — the English Farm, an English college where you learn by living it. Within three years he had sixty private students, aged five to seventy-five.

Then the English enquiries started coming in to Salvador Costa Weddings. Naturally, Adam was the one writing back, Adam was the one leading the first conversations, Adam was the one they kept choosing. A year in, Salvador turned round: “You’re becoming part of the business.” There wasn’t much choice in it. And Salvador was the one who insisted Adam’s name went on it. Costa & Mason.

Good with people is one thing. Wait until you see his imagination. He designed our wedding. Three days of it — a sangeet first, the wedding day itself, and finally the hangover party, kimonos by the pool. The style, the feel, the outfits, the everything… Just go and see for yourself.

Laura and Salvador met at eighteen, working the catering companies by day and the dancefloors by night. Twenty-something years on she’s still his best friend, with not so many dancefloors.

She came to weddings from the catwalk end of the industry. Pronovias, producing campaigns and shows for one of the world’s leading bridal brands. Then her own studio, InWhite, running fashion productions across several countries at once. Teams, locations, budgets, suppliers, models, all in the air together. Sound familiar?

Through the planning, it’s the suppliers, it’s the detail, it’s you. On the day, it’s all you — the dress, the speeches, the processions, the timing. She’ll fix a dress in the middle of a ceremony, at exactly the right moment, unasked. She saw it needed doing, so it was done.

We take around fifteen weddings a year, in Barcelona. Our team is sized to your wedding, for every day. Everyone speaks English. If what you want most is the lowest price, we’re not your planners.
